AIRAID has designed an MXP cold air intake system for the 2013-2016 Ford Explorer equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost V-6. This bolt-on kit supplies additional horsepower and torque with no tuning required! The AIRAID MXP system targets the most restrictive portions of the factory intake system: the factory air box and filter. AIRAID’s one-piece roto-molded intake box replaces the factory piece and utilizes the factory cold air scoop. Blade-style weatherstripping along the top edge of the box seals against the hood to keep the air filter isolated from hot engine compartment air. The box utilizes the factory mounting holes, so there is no drilling or trimming required. An adapter with a built-in velocity stack connects to the factory intake tube.
The AIRAID intake box supplies plenty of cold outside air to the heart of the system, the premium AIRAID filter. All AIRAID filters are built with hand-poured urethane casings that are guaranteed not to shrink, wrinkle, or warp for the life of the vehicle. AIRAID filters are available with traditional oiled filter media, or SynthaMax dry filter media in red, blue, or black. The oversized filter ensures plenty of air reaches the engine without sacrificing filtration or flow.
