AIRAID Cold Air Dam Systems for 1995-2011 GM 4.3L V-6 engine Mid-Size Trucks & SUVs

1991-2005 GM trucks with the 4.3L V-6 engine Air Intake

The 200-133 AIRAID quick fit intake system fits a wide variety of mid-size GM trucks and SUVs from 1991-2005 with the 4.3L V-6 engine.

Chevrolet’s mid-size trucks from the mid-90s to mid-2000s may not have been the fanciest vehicles in the world, nor were they the most powerful, but GM S-10 pickups, Blazers, Jimmys, and Sonomas have served their owners with remarkable reliability thanks in no small part to the 4.3L V-6 engine. These trucks have been depended on for many years for everything from taking the kids to school to weekend camping trips, and they also remain a staple among mini-truck enthusiasts. The 4.3L V-6 is no slouch in the power department, but there’s always more power available under the hood. To feed the need for more power, AIRAID has developed a quick-fit Cold Air Dam system that frees up additional power in 1996-2005 GM mid-size trucks and SUVs. A simple bolt-on upgrade, the AIRAID system allows the engines in these trucks to breathe easier and run more efficiently.

AIRAID Synthamax dry filter

The 200-133 quick-fit system uses the 700-433 performance cone-style air filter to maximize available airflow to the engine. The 700-433 includes traditional oiled filter media, but the kit is also available with SynthaMax dry filters in red, blue, or black.

The AIRAID Cold Air Dam system works by targeting the most restrictive portion of the factory intake system: the air box and air filter. New Cold Air Dam panels replace the upper portion of the factory intake box. They snap into the lower half of the factory intake box, enabling the system to retain the use of the factory cold air inlet duct in the fenderwell. Weatherstripping is positioned on top of the CAD panels that seals against the hood when it is closed; the system uses the hood as the “lid” for the air box. These panels keep the filter isolated from hot engine compartment air while also adding a forward-facing area for additional cool outside air to reach the filter. The panels connect to the factory intake tube and MAF sensor, making for a simple bolt-on installation with no drilling, trimming, or other modifications needed. The design also enables the vehicle to easily be returned to stock if desired.

AIRAID dry filter wrap

To further enhance filtration and extend service intervals, AIRAID recommends adding a 799-430 pre-filter to the kit, especially if the vehicle is regularly used in dirty, dusty environments, such as unpaved roads and general off-road use.

The heart of the system is the AIRAID premium filter, which improves airflow without sacrificing filtration. The AIRAID cone-style performance filter offers more surface area for filter media compared to the factory flat-panel paper filter, which means the filter is capable of flowing more air. The AIRAID quick-fit system for mid-size Chevy and GM trucks is available with four different filters. The 200-133 system includes a red filter with AIRAID’s SynthaFlow oiled filter media, while the 201-233 system includes a red filter with AIRAID’s SynthaMax dry filter media that does not require oil. The 202-233 system includes a SynthaMax dry filter in black. These filters filter the same and flow within 5% of one another, so the best filter to use really depends on personal preference. All of AIRAID’s filters are washable and reusable while carrying a lifetime warranty.

AIRAID Cold Air Intake

For a more customized look, AIRAID offers the quick-fit kit for GM S10 trucks and SUVs with a red filter as shown here with part number 200-133, and also a black filter with part number 202-133.

The 201-133 and 202-133 quick fit systems fit the following vehicles:

AIRAID Universal Air Filters Offer a Custom Performance Boost

AIRAID 100-203 universal air filter

The AIRAID 100-203 universal air filter will improve performance and protect your engine

Most of the time, improving your car's performance is as simple as installing a cold air intake system. But if you're building something unique, finding an intake that fits might not be that easy. There's different clearance issues, performance requirements, and most importantly, filtration. Having a custom intake system made for your car can be expensive. Fortunately, the AIRAID 100-203 universal air filter is designed to work with a number of applications, making it one of the most versatile performance air filters on the market today.

AIRAID filter cleaning kit

The AIRAID filter cleaning kit will keep your filter performing for many years

AIRAID performance air filters are designed to work with either an existing intake system, or one of the AIRAID intake tubes. Simply attach it using the supplied worm gear clamp, and it will provide your engine with a steady supply of clean, oxygen-rich air. The black trim and red filter media will look great under any hood. The AIRAID 100-203 filter also comes with a mounting bracket to help securely affix the filter under the hood. Plus, creating a custom air intake system is easy-as-pie thanks to the AIRAID custom intake master kits. They come with everything you'll need, including a roto-molded AIRAID intake tube, complete with a selection of the bends and angles that you might need, molded right in.

AIRAID’s exclusive Synthaflow filter media prevents contaminants from reaching the engine by using dual-layer technology. Below the outer wire mesh is multiple layers of cotton gauze, which is treated with a special oil blend (that's where the signature red color comes from). When dirt particles hit this material, they become ensnared inside the tacky filter media. That oil then seeps into the dirt, locking it in place, and turning it into a sticky filter element that can actually attract and hold other dirt. Contaminants that make it past the layers of cotton, will be stopped by a synthetic layer. Put these two layers together and the AIRAID 100-203 universal air filter provides unrestricted airflow that's cleaner than more expensive cotton or synthetic filters.

AIRAID UBI master kits

AIRAID UBI master kits will allow you to create the perfect intake system for your vehicle

Besides delivering a high volume of clean air, the AIRAID 100-203 universal air filter can be washed and reused over and over again. Simply unclamp it from the intake tube and clean it with the AIRAID 790-550 filter cleaning kit. This high performance air filter is also backed by AIRAID’s “No Hassle” Lifetime Warranty, so it's literally guaranteed to perform.

Create a Custom Intake System with This AIRAID Universal Filter

AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter

Designed to fit a variety of applications, the AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter can put the finishing touch on any build

During the ammunition scrap drives of WWII, V-12 Packards, V-16 Cadillacs, and countless other fast cars were sacrificed to beat Hitler and company. As a result, teenagers who wanted to go fast, had to get creative. The Ford Model A Roadster was cheap, plentiful, and lightweight (that's why so many survived the munition drives), which made it the ideal starting point for a hot rod. These young gear heads would strip any unnecessary weight from the car, then scavenge the junkyards for anything that would make their car go faster. Fortunately, times have changed, and we can just scour the internet for go-fast goodies. Like the AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter.

Fortunately, times have changed, and we can just scour the internet for go-fast goodies. Like the AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter.

In order to pull horsepower out of thin air, a performance air filter has to provide as much airflow as possible, while removing as many contaminants as possible. Dirt particles obviously harm the engine, but filtering them all out can significantly reduce the volume of air going into the engine. To get around this, the AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter uses multiple layers of oiled cotton gauze, backed by a proprietary synthetic material. A special oil blend soaks into the cotton, creating a sticky surface that can attract even the smallest bits of dirt. That oil then soaks through the dirt, holding it in place, and causing it to attract other contaminants to itself. Behind this layer of filter media is another synthetic layer that's been designed to stop any contaminants that make it past the cotton gauze. This adds an extra layer of engine protection, while maintaining the high-flow characteristics that AIRAID filters have become known for. The 100-202 filter also comes with a mounting bracket to mount your AIRAID filter in the engine bay.

Another benefit of the AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter is longevity. Thanks to its innovative design, this AIRAID air filter can be washed and reused. Every 30,000-50,000 miles (depending on driving conditions), simply remove the filter and clean it using the AIRAID 790-550 filter tune-up kit. This will safely remove dirt from the multiple filter layers, and prevent you from spending money on yet another expensive performance air filter. It's also backed by a “No Hassle” Lifetime Warranty, so the performance and quality are guaranteed. Visit AIRAID.com to find out more about custom intake components. You can also locate a dealer using AIRAID’s dealer locator tool.

Benefits of the AIRAID 100-202 universal air filter:

  • Can be used to upgrade existing intake system
  • Reduces airflow restrictions
  • Increased airflow
  • Works great with AIRAID intake tubes and custom intake kit
  • Reusable AIRAID Synthaflow air filter can go 30,000-50,000 miles before it needs to be cleaned (depending on driving conditions)
  • Covered by the AIRAID “No Hassle” Lifetime Warranty

Rightline Gear Builds a Unique Jeep Wrangler JK for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas

AIRAID Jeep Air Intake 311-132 Installed

Rightline knew that their Jeep would spend a lot of time on and off the road, so they carefully selected upgrades known for their benefits, durability, and reliability. They added AIRAID cold air intake 311-132 to their build because, frankly, Jeeps need all the help they can get when it comes to performance. They installed the intake right in the company parking lot in under an hour.

AIRAID Jeep Wrangler JK Air Intake 311-132 Installed

The AIRAID MXP system for the late-model Wrangler JK features a sealed box design. Knowing that Jeep owners would most likely use their vehicles extensively off-road, AIRAID chose to protect the filter in a closed box with an aluminum lid. The box makes use of the factory cold air inlet duct, which is capable of flowing plenty of air to the filter inside the box.

Every automotive enthusiast knows about the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association's annual trade show, and most of them anticipate seeing the coverage of drool-worthy products and over-the-top vehicles that companies and customizers alike build to showcase new products. Most of these vehicles are trailer queens; immaculately detailed and dressed up with all of the latest accessories and modifications, very few of them will ever see street use. In fact, nearly all of them arrive on trailers, most of which are enclosed so that the vehicles' immaculate paint isn't tarnished with road grime. More than a few of them don't even run. One company set out to do things a little differently for the 2015 SEMA show. Rightline Gear manufactures an innovative line of weatherproof storage bags aimed at the Jeep market, and what better way to showcase their products than by building a Jeep and then driving it from their North Carolina headquarters all the way to the SEMA show in Las Vegas? The company did just that, but due to the distances involved, they had to be careful about the accessories they added. Only durable and reliable products would get them all the way across the country and back, which is why they chose to outfit their 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK with an AIRAID cold air intake system and a few other products from trusted manufacturers.

Jeep Wrangler at SEMA with AIRAID

Most companies trailer their show vehicles to SEMA, but Rightline wanted to showcase the durability of their equipment and those of other manufacturers by driving their show vehicle all the way from North Carolina to Las Vegas. As expected there was some weather along the way. The duffle bags on the roof rack are Rightline’s waterproof storage bags, and they definitely got put to the test.

A JK was a natural choice for Rightline Gear. After all, they specialize in Jeep storage solutions and the JK is the hottest platform in the off-road market right now. The company started with a bone stock two-door Sport model, but it didn't stay stock for very long. First up was a 3-inch lift kit from MaxTrac Suspension, followed closely by a set of 35x12.50R17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires wrapped around a set of 17x9 Ultra Vagabond wheels. Bushwacker flares got the nod to help clear the larger tires, while the interior benefitted from a host of upgrades from Tuffy, Rhino Linings, Wet Okole, and several other manufacturers. Since Rightline intended to use the Jeep as a calling card on the trails following the SEMA show, the exterior was protected with OR-Fab bumpers and rock sliders, and a Bulldog winch was added just in case things got a little out of hand off-road.

Jeep Wrangler at SEMA Booth with AIRAID

After a full day getting the road grime off the Jeep, the company loaded the Jeep into their booth. The Jeep served as a calling card to showcase Rightline’s full complement of weatherproof Jeep storage solutions.

Jeeps have never been known to be powerhouses, and this is especially true of the late-model Wrangler. While the PentaStar 3.6L V6 is a vast improvement over the 3.8L in 2007-2011 Wranglers, it's still not exactly neck-snapping when you step on the throttle. However, the engine is extremely responsive to an enhanced induction, which is why Rightline reached out to AIRAID for one of their MXP cold air intake systems. A complete kit, the AIRAID MXP system replaces everything from the throttle body out. A new intake box replaces the factory unit, and a new intake tube optimizes airflow to the engine. The JK MXP system is a slight departure from other AIRAID MXP designs in that it has an airbox with a lid, as opposed to an open-style airbox like most other applications. AIRAID chose a sealed box design knowing that most Jeeps will be used off-road, and a sealed box help protect against mud and water ingestion. The box makes use of the factory cold air inlet duct, and is also compatible with popular aftermarket snorkel systems such as those manufactured by ARB and AEV. Inside the box is a premium AIRAID filter available with SynthaFlow oiled filter media in red, or SynthaMax dry filter media in red, blue, or black. Rightline chose the SynthaMax dry filter for their application, and they reported an immediate increase in throttle response as well as overall engine performance. The part number they used for installation is 311-132.

Jeep Wrangler in Moab with AIRAID

After a long trip across the country and an even longer week at the SEMA show, the Rightline crew made a small detour to Moab in order to test out their Jeep build and also reap some of the benefits of all the hard work of previous weeks.

As with most SEMA projects, the build was down to the wire, but the Rightline team was able to get the job done with some help from T and A Offroad. The Jeep made the long trip to Las Vegas without a hitch, and after a full day in the parking lot detailing the Jeep, they loaded it into the SEMA show for the week. The Jeep was a huge success for the company and attracted a lot of attention to both it and the company's innovative storage bags and storage gear. After the show, they couldn't resist driving back to North Carolina via Moab, where they spent a day checking out the slick rock trails and enjoying the benefits of all their hard work.

AIRAID offers an extensive line of cold air intake systems for Jeep vehicles, including the Jeep Wrangler Air Intakes, Jeep Cherokee Air Intakes, and Jeep Grand Cherokee Air Intakes. All of AIRAID's Jeep intake systems are designed to simply bolt into place and work with the factory tuning. Jeep Wrangler AIRAID Drop-In Replacement Air Filter Helps Deliver Power in Just Minutes

Caption

AIRAID's 863-425 drop-in replacement filter for 2012-2015 Jeep Wrangler JKs has a unique shape that makes use of all the available space in the stock air box in order to increase the surface area of the filter media. This enables the filter to go longer between cleanings.

Jeeps are a dominant force in the off-road world, and with good reason: solid axles front and rear, a compact chassis that maximizes approach and departure angles, and low-range grunt to get up and over obstacles on the trail. Jeeps were meant to be used off the pavement, but that also means that Jeep engine air filters work overtime to keep dirt and debris out of the engine. AIRAID offers a simple air filter upgrade with the 863-425 drop-in replacement filter that improves performance in just a few minutes.

Caption

In addition to the 863-425 air filter featured here, similar versions are available in red with either oiled (860-425) or non-oiled (861-425) filter media. All three filters offer similar performance benefits, so which one is best is a matter of personal preference.

Stock paper air filters do an adequate job of filtering dirty outside air, but they also introduce restrictions and they are expensive to replace. Depending on the environment, just one off-road outing can render a stock filter packed with dirt and in need of replacement. Rather than replacing a dirty stock filter, a better option is to upgrade the Jeep with a washable and reusable low-restriction air filter from AIRAID.

At first glance, AIRAID's drop-in replacement filter for 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Jeep JK Wranglers looks quite a bit different from a stock replacement. Rather than a traditional flat-panel filter, the AIRAID filter has a cone shape that makes use of all the available space in the stock air box. The purpose of the unique shape is to increase the surface area of the filter media, which extends service intervals and enables the AIRAID filter to last longer in dirty environments before it has to be serviced. More filter surface area also means that the AIRAID filter maintains effective filtration.

Caption

The AIRAID drop-in replacement filter for the Jeep Wrangler is washable and reusable. AIRAID recommends using the 790-558 dry filter cleaning solution on the 863-425 when it is time to service the filter. Simply follow the instructions on the back of the bottle to clean this and other AIRAID SynthaMax dry filters.

The base of the filter is constructed of a durable polyurethane material that matches the sealing surface of the air box, and the sealing edges are reinforced internally to ensure the seal is not compromised. In other words, the filter will not warp or deform once clamped into place. Though the filter appears to be quite a bit different than the stock filter, no modifications are needed and installation is as simple as replacing a stock air filter.

Aside from more filter surface area, a big advantage of the 863-425 drop-in filter for the JK is that it is washable and reusable. The filter utilizes AIRAID's exclusive SynthaMax dry blue media, meaning that no oil is needed or recommended when servicing the filter. Simply spray a liberal amount of AIRAID's filter cleaning solution on to the filter from the outside, let it soak for a few minutes, and then rinse it from the inside out using low pressure clean tap water. Let the filter air dry, and it's ready for installation.

In addition to the 863-425 that features dry blue filter media, AIRAID offers the 861-425 dry filter in red and the 860-425 filter with traditional SynthaFlow oiled filter media.

The 860-425, 861-425, and 863-425 drop-in replacement filters fit the following vehicles:

2015 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6
2014 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6
2013 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6
2012 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L V6
